Empty Christmas baskets can become your new, multi-purposed best friends. The gifts inside may already have been put to good use, so now it's time to put the empty baskets to good use. Here are ten ideas for how you can re-use instead of make more refuse.

1. Toy bin - If you have kids, you know how far and wide the path of toys can be. The swath of destruction can know no bounds, that's for sure. Using an empty basket to help keep all your children's play-things corralled can be a lifesaver, or at least a room saver.
2. Trunk organizer - Set an empty basket or two in the trunk or cargo area of your vehicle. You can keep emergency items in them (ie, an extra blanket, road flares, first aid kit, water). Organizing these items into their proper spot will help you find them quickly and keep up on what items you have, and what items you need.
3. Closet organizer - Whether it's seasonal decorations, dog items, or gloves and scarves for winter, having a basket to keep everything together can help your closet hold everything you'll need it to. If you have items scattered throughout your closet, they can take up more room than they really need to. Keeping like things together can make them so much easier and quicker to find.

9. Crafts organizer - Keep your scissors, tape, glue, pens, pencils, etc, all in an easily portable container. You won't have to worry about losing any of your items, or not having them all together when you go to start your project.
10. Bathroom cabinet bin - You can store extra toilet paper, feminine products, extra garbage bags, and all those other items that find their way under your sink, in a handy basket. If you have more than one basket, depending on their size you can have one just for paper products and one for bottles. Either way, you'll find more room and less clutter in your cabinet.
